Capt. Kent Ewing, USN (Ret.)

Captain Kent “Eagle” Ewing, USN (Ret.), is a distinguished naval aviator, test pilot, and senior military commander who served in the United States Navy for 28 years. During his career, he commanded the aircraft carrier USS America (CV-66) during Operation Desert Storm and led Carrier Air Wing 17, embarked aboard USS Sylvania. A graduate of the Naval Test Pilot School, Kent’s military service earned him the Bronze Star and 15 Air Medals. His leadership and operational experience reflect a career dedicated to naval aviation, mission readiness, and flight operations.

Following his military retirement, Kent continued his aviation career in general aviation leadership. He served as a senior leader in Bonanza and Baron pilot training and as Director of Flight Operations at Eclipse Aviation. He has also served as a chief pilot and FAA-designated Pilot Proficiency Examiner. With more than 18,500 flight hours across over 100 aircraft types, Kent brings extensive experience in aviation training, safety, and mentorship. His career spanning military and civilian aviation offers a valuable perspective on aviation safety, operational excellence, and the development of future aviators.
